A South African trio formed in 2007, known for their single ‘Enter The Ninja‘. Die Antwoord are an Alternate Hip-Hop/Rave/Zef group who currently have two studio albums and two EP’s that consist of 5 EP, Ekstra EP, $O$ Full Album and of course Ten$Ion.

Die Antwoord are a very mysterious group in certain ways. Some may say that they’re ‘weird’. These attributes are part of what Die Antwoord really are as a group, although not many people like it. DJ Hi-Tek is an unknown person who writes music for Die Antwoord but doesn’t appear live. DJ Hi-Tek has also never made a public appearance associated with Die Antwoord. DJ Vuilgeboost is the DJ that plays and appears on behalf of
DJ Hi-Tek.

Ten$Ion is jam packed full of lyrics in both English and Afrikaans languages. In the 39 minutes that the album is on for, there is a series of well constructed lyrics and intense music that never fails to catch the attention of the audience.

Comments made by listeners about Ten$Ion:

Positive: “Ten$ion’s depiction of modern South Africa is nothing less than thrilling

Negative: “Hi-Tek’s construction of techno beats and rave stabs on the quirky I Fink U Freeky and heavy brostep on opener Never Le Nkemise just add to the nauseating concoction of trash that comprises Ten$ion”

My personal thought on Ten$Ion is that the album really portrays South African culture. The album is well presented with mixture of two different languages that make up the slick lyrics from both Ninja and Yolandi. To me it seems like Yolandi is representing good and Ninja is representing evil. I defiantly think that this album is awarded atleast an 8/10 although many people disagree.
